Laqlaq is an Istanbul brand that draws its strength from Anatolia — a land where every century and every place carries its own distinct color. Inspired by our name, we believe that conversation and storytelling are among the strongest bridges binding people to one another. And so we follow the trace of every culture that has ever passed through these lands, reinterpreting the marks hidden in their motifs, patterns, and paintings through the design language of today.

As we bring traditional craft together with the elegance of pure silk, cotton, and wool, we weave Anatolia's visual memory — its motifs, its stories, the geometry of its stones — into our designs. No pattern here is a copied motif; each one is a design decision, drawn, undone, and drawn again. Every design in our collections is a living Anatolian story, to be carried at your neck, over your shoulder, or in your pocket.

In a world flattened into sameness by mass production, we believe deeply in the work of the human hand. The edges of our pieces are rolled by hand, one by one, with patience. This small detail stands not for some notion of perfection, but for the human beauty and singularity found within the imperfect.

We hold mutual aid to be the most precious element of this land's cultural heritage, and we mean to pay tribute to all the cultures before us who made solidarity an inseparable part of daily life. After all, we are the children of people who founded a hospital — the Gurabahane-i Laklakan, the almshouse for storks — for injured storks and all the migratory birds wounded in the sky. Our name is but one of the shares that has fallen to us from that legacy.
